Christian Hope Uganda (UK) exists largely to support the work of Christian Future Hope Uganda through raising funds for the work of the primary schools at Kyehimba and Kakagate, as well as supporting the work of Preachers’ Kids. We do not have any contractual obligation to ensure continuity of that support, although we want to minimise the risk of a break in funding where possible.
2. The needs of our partners in Uganda are continuous and always exceed our ability as a charity to meet them all. We also have a diverse supporter base which in the past has always proved generous and quick to respond to needs as they arise. For these reasons, as trustees, we do not believe it would be appropriate to hold a large amount in reserve for unforeseen interruptions to our funding stream.

3. We do not foresee any costs being incurred should the charity have to close.
4. For these reasons, we believe £2000, which slightly exceeds our current regular monthly giving to Uganda, would be an appropriate amount to hold in reserve. This will be held in a separate reserve account.
5. This money will only be released on the instructions of the trustees and for the following reasons:
- to allow continuity of the regular funding for our partners in Uganda
- to meet specific needs should emergency situations arise.
6. This policy will be reviewed every three years, unless there is a need to do so before.
