What an evening we had last Saturday (February 4th) there in Emmanuel Christian Centre in Llandudno... A meal for over 70 people - scrumptious turkey (with really huge thank yous to the folk who donated the meat!!!) in a creamy mushroom sauce, new potatoes, peas, cabbage and honey glazed roasted carrots, followed by Eton Mess. There was a quiz, which caused some hilarity, an auction of a blanket made by a supporter - which sold for £65, the purchaser then passing it to someone else who had been out-bidded, who then passed it to a third person who had also been bidding, who proclaimed she had been bidding because she wanted it to go out to Uganda... So, when a team goes out there, then that is what will happen! Wow!
We had some updates given by the trustees - who were explaining about the importance of water harvesting at the two schools. There is already this facility at Kyehimba - but the school has grown so much that it is no longer adequate. What a testimony to the successful work those teachers do! We learned that all the children had passed their exams for secondary entrance - and again, our two schools ranked highly in the area - the secondary schools all want these pupils!!
There was a sale table with handmade cards, pictures, cardigans and pyrography - which raised over £100, people paid for their meal, and many donations were received on the night and since. The total so far is £2000 towards the water harvesting - and all without a photo being taken! We had all forgotten to take our cameras... oh well - I hope your imagination is good if you missed the fun of the evening.
Thank you again for all your constant support for these children
What I can show you is a photo of these youngsters at Kyehimba receiving their mattresses and Mosquito nets, for which an appeal was made around Christmas. They can now sleep comfortably and safely.

Thank you.
